Rated 5 out of 5Â by Skip The best for multi surface adhesion We recently did a residential repaint. The homeowner had all the woo floors refinished so we applied Rosin paper and used 2" 3m tape to hold the paper to the foors with great results and no damage to the floors. I will only use 3M products for my business ! October 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5Â by Saraquilter Scotch Blue, a quilter friend. Use your tape for painting projects BUT I am a quilter and we quilters love your tape for marking our quilts. Use the tape to mark where we want to quilt, therefore we don't have to mark the quilt with marking pens. Tape leaves no residue and can be used more than once. My commercial would be, " I'm a quilter and I use Scotch Blue." Recently recommended this method to a lady heading home to the Phillipines. Said she would buy some before leaving. May 28, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5Â by Mocha7182 Great for more than just painting! We originally bought this tape for use on the outside of our car as we trust it to peel off cleanly without taking any paint with it. It never made to our car as there are just so many uses! One of the main uses is to mark food containers with the contents and date for in the fridge. That way we always know how long something has been in there. This wonderful blue tape ALWAYS peels off cleanly and without leaving any residue. November 8, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5Â by TapeWaster True to its name, not just a painters tape, has multi-purposes! I am not a painter by any means, but I have used the multi-purpose blue painters tape for a variety of tasks, including - sticking it on a painted wall/to cover an area to prevent splash [its primary, intended purpose].For places that need touch-ups for whatever reason: be it, due to too many nail holes made by picture frames over the years, and you decide to patch them up and do some touch up paint. Or you are installing new light switches and you need to tape around that area, or even to prevent accidental punctures when working with tools. It seems to do the job as intended. But the great thing is that this, really is a multi-purpose tape, and I feel it can take the role of masking tape as well for better or worse. What I mean is, when you are using this tape outside of the painting realm [such as uses intended for vanilla colored masking tape], it does not leave a sticky residue over time, or if it gets heated [a hot day, left on a hot surface/on a hot day, or just over time]. Which saves a lot of trouble. The "worse", although its not really that bad [I know wrong word choice], is that sometimes it may not stick as strongly as you would like compared to masking tape. For example, folded heavy duty plastic baggies [like those thick, I believe 4mil? 6mil?] plastic bags at around 3-6 inch tall to 2 inch wide. An easier example might be, the freezer bag style zip-lock bags, and sometimes even slightly thicker. This tape may curl up on the corners depending on how its used, if the inside of the bag is "pumped" etc.Overall a great tape for its intent, and other multi-purposes. May 27, 2011

Rated 1 out of 5Â by HLS50630 Did not seal out paint and removed finish Although this product started out promising at first, adhering cleanly and strongly, I found a disaster after finishing my project. I used this tape on surfaces of my bedroom ranging from finished trim, to metal vents, and window panes to keep my new paint color off of these surfaces, but it helped very little. Not only did the tape not seal the edge to paint, it stripped the finish off of my trim! From start to finish, the tape was applied no more that 48 hours, and in the photo I've attached, you can see where the tape let paint through and where it removed the finish by my thumb knuckle. I am unable to recommend this product, because it did not meet the expectations I had after viewing instructional tutorials and the guarantees the company makes in their advertising. I am disappointed that I have more work to do now to try and reverse the damage to my trim and other room surfaces when I was expecting my project to be finished. I have used other brands of painter's tape before and will revert to these other brands after this experience. August 1, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5Â by Sandi45 Scotch Blue Multi Surface Tape did the job.... I received a free roll of scotch blue original Multi surface tape in the mail awhile back. I decided to try my hand on the many thrifty items I have in my garage. As The 4th of July was approaching, I chose a patriotic theme. I used the tape to paint a flag on an old window, chair, suitcase, shutter, old window screen and shovel. For the most part I was pleased with the results. There was some paint bleed under the tape & also some paint came off when I peeled the tape off. I think if I had the scotch blue edge lock or delicate surface tapes, this wouldn't of been an issue. Needless to say, the items sold very fast & I'm looking forward to trying the other tapes & making more items. July 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5Â by BubbleGirl Not just for painting I recently had a cast on my arm and leg. In order to bathe I needed to cover them with a plastic bag and wrap with tape. Since your tape is designed for wet paint the water did not effect it which keep my cast dry. Also the tape did not rip up the plastic bag which allowed me to reuse them. Thank you for your product. It made getting better a little easier. July 5, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5Â by CB1121 Does NOT remove cleanly I recently repainted our bathroom and was very upset when I tried to remove the tape I had placed along the edge of the ceiling and wall. The tape ripped out not only chunks of the wall paint but also the paint along the ceiling. It's rather frustrating to think you're finished working on a project only to discover that you have to go back and redo a lot of it because the tape you were using screwed it up. June 6, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5Â by TinaB Tape pulled off the paint on my walls. This is the second time I've had a difficult time with your product, Scotch Blue Painter's Tape for Multi Surfaces #2090. I was painting my kitchen cabinets and used your tape on my kitchen walls, protecting them from the paint I was using on my cabinets. I went to pull off the tape and the paint came off the walls. One spot I could have dealt with but it happened continually leaving me with a new job of buying paint for my walls and painting my kitchen walls. I was told by several people not to leave the tape on the walls for very long. I made sure I didn't.I haven't had much luck with your product and will not recommend it to my family and friends. The completion time was doubled because of your product. I have learned after this job to cut in the trim freehand, using no tape. The only relevant evidence I had was the tape with my wall paint on it. My husband mistakenly threw it away, thinking it was garbage. I did learn by this complaint process that I should have taken pictures of the damage. April 22, 2014
