I used Scotch Blue painters tape to create dashed lines on the ceiling of my baby's nursery. The tape was strong and did a great job of protecting the color from bleeding onto the white ceiling background. Even with a textured surface, this tape did an excellent job and I would recommend it to painters and Do-It-Yourselfers out there! Further, I used the tape to help define the corners of the room and to paint a life size tree over the crib. The tape kept my lines straight and clean, with little touchup and a lot of peace of mind. I was diligent in prepping with the scotch blue edge lock tape and it was alot quicker than I've ever experienced. Once I started painting I was so happy at how nice the edges came out when I took the tape off. Had to use alot of it as we have two windows and 3 doorways in our room. Plus we have popcorn ceilings with cheap molding at ceiling. We have a manufactured home and alot of the choices for finishes were not mine, they came with the house. With the edge lock I didn't have to go back to fix my mess ups which there are usually a good amount. It was a bit more expensive than other prep tapes but well worth the money. I will only use Scotch blue edge lock tape from now on. This tape will work well when I paint furniture also which is one of my next projects. Thanks for such a great product. I really needed to refresh the paint in my bathroom and thought I would have to hire it done. One day at the "Big Box" home store I discovered your tape, so I bought it thinking "what have I got to lose". Not only did it live up to it's advertising but it turned me into an, almost, expert painter. I finished my bathroom in record time (and it looks great) and I am going to buy more paint and start on my living room. The simplicity of the tape makes any painting project so much easier. Tape, paint, and peel ... it's that easy. Thank you for such a wonderful product. I am now a "do it yourself" professional, at least when it comes to painting. We recently painted our bathroom and used this tape not only along the wall edges but around the edges of all the fixtures - and it worked awesome! When the walls were all dry, the tape came off super easy and left the paint job looking really nice and neat! She wanted a bedroom with butterflies and horses. I decided to do the walls with a hint of fencing for horses. It came out terrific! I even reused some strips of tape and the lines were still crisp! Since this was supposed to be a fence, I was not worried if it did not seal completely but was amazed and pleased to see it still did! This is definately my only tape on future projects! I was using a competitors product, but ran out and sent my husband to the store. He came home with scotch blue. It claimed to have the edge lock and wouldn't bleed. That was not the case, it bled along the entire edge. I had to spend hours touching up by hand. I had no bleeding with the competitors. It was in fact a side by side comparison and I was very disappointed. I have wasted my time and money with this product and its false claims of edge lock technology. The tape comes off clean and will not damage the surface.
