Finding better solutions is what we do. We've designed tools and two-in-one products that make applying painter's tape to your surface easier.
Richard Drew, a 3M scientist, invented masking tape in 1925. It was originally developed for use in two-toned painting on automobiles.
The product now known as Scotch® Painter's Tape was invented by 3M in 1988. It was designed for professional painters to use in residential and commercial painting applications. Scotch® Painter’s Tape revolutionized the masking industry because it resists UV, allowing the tape to stay on the masked surface for an extended time.
